SLO TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
In 2008, San Luis Obispo established a Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID), allowing the hotel industry to raise funds solely dedicated to tourism marketing and promotions to attract visitors to San Luis Obispo. The TBID is inclusive of all lodging properties in the City of San Luis Obispo including hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, hostels, inns and owner-occupied homestays.
The Board consists of seven members from the San Luis Obispo lodging industry who serve for four years. The members of the TBID Board recommends projects to promote tourism to the City of San Luis Obispo to directly benefit the City’s lodging industry as represented in the 2014 – 2019 TBID Strategic Plan (available for download below). The TBID meets the second Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am in the City Council Hearing Room, City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, California unless otherwise specified on the agenda. The latest meeting agenda and minutes are available here. For more information, contact Tourism & Community Promotions Manager, Jacqui Clark-Charlesworth, at (805) 781-7216 or email [email protected].
