Upcycling Competition

What: An event for people to create an upcycled item and compete for prizes.

In celebration of Earth Month, SLO Climate Coalition’s Resilient SLO is holding an Upcycling Competition!

Open to all ages, contestants will spend up to three hours creating an upcycled item. Clothing, furniture, bicycles, appliances, decor – any existing material can be used to create something new. Contestants will bring their own supplies, and work from 10am to 1pm. There will be a lunch break at 1pm, when anyone in attendance can cast their vote for the three judging categories: Best Fashion, Most Practical, and Most Creative. All entries may be considered for all categories.

SCHEDULE

9:45 AM ~ 10:00 AM: Doors open; Contestant arrival & set up
10:00 AM ~ 1:00 PM: Work begins!
1:00 PM ~ 1:30 PM: Lunch & judging time
1:45 PM ~ 2:00 PM:  Announce winners
2:00 PM ~ 3:00 PM: Clean up
