About the Event:
MYLR Gallery and Books is hosting an art reception for local artist Kelsea Carter scheduled for Friday, June 2nd, 2023. This event will take place at 2050 Parker Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 and will be from 5 PM until 8 PM PDT. This is a free event that is open to the public. We will also be providing complimentary light refreshments.
About the Artist:
Kelsea Carter is a multidisciplinary artist and jewelry designer. Her work speaks to the companionships many have with both the unseen world and material objects, as well as the use of those objects to connect to the unseen world. She is intrigued and motivated by the concepts of being “Human vs. Holy” not only by her own personal experiences but by those within humanity as a whole. Her use of paper mache clay, paint, metal and beadwork take her art into a more energetic space with the observer.
Kelsea got her B.S. in Art at the University of Oregon where she worked in letterpress, metalsmithing, and photography and was awarded the honor to give one of her artist books a permanent home at the UO Artist Book Collection Library. Spending most her life moving around, she is now back in her California hometown on the Central Coast.
