A seminar on the history and production of Vermouth including a tasting flight. Many of the featured vermouths are made by females or inspired by them.
The Spoon Trade is known for offering several craft cocktails featuring vermouth. Several of these vermouths are produced by a variety of West Coast females, which will be highlighted in the seminar.
Some of these vermouths include but are not limited to:
Hubba Vermouth (Riley Hubba, SLO),
Momnpop (Samantha Sheehan, nor cal)
Brovo (co-owned by Mhairi Voelsgen, WA)
Attendees will be greeted with signature vermouth cocktails and light bites while they find their way to their seats.
At 6:00, we will begin an exploration of vermouth (2.0), including its history, origin, recipes, and more. Riley Hubba will be on hand to discuss her process, while Brooke Town will lead the lesson, highlighting other female-produced vermouths and more.
In order to link the AEOV & AEOV 2.0 I will continue to use foraged ingredients from last year’s event site, the HAVEN. While the final recipes are still in progress, herbs and botanicals such as lavender, kafir leaves, thyme, lemon, fennel, strawberry guava, passion fruit and more.
