Join him for a haunting Halloween concert featuring Phantom of the Opera arias alongside opera singers, Bernardo Bermudez and Anna Belaya, and be captivated by the organ’s mesmerizing, spooky side.

ABOUT RAÚL PRIETO RAMÍREZ

With words such as “sizzling”, iconoclastic”, “impeccable”, and “transcendent” used to describe his performances, Raúl Prieto Ramírez is the first Spanish organist in recent times to establish himself among the elite of the international pipe organ scene. “The powerful personality, passionate expressiveness, gift for communication, and outstanding technique of Spanish organist Raúl Prieto Ramírez make him shine in a wide range of repertoire and styles”. He is San Diego Civic Organist and Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society, where he presides over the famed Austin organ at the city’s Balboa Park Pavilion – the largest open-air musical instrument in the world. Mr. Ramírez is the eighth Civic Organist to serve San Diego on the Spreckels organ bench.

ABOUT ANNA BELAYA

Anna Belaya – a celebrated Ukrainian soprano,  and a graduate from Kiev Tchaikovsky Conservatory, is renowned for her rich and creamy voice. She has performed with San Diego Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, San Diego Spreckels Organ Pavilion, San Diego Grossmont Symphony, Dream Orchestra of Los Angeles, and more. She is a regular performer and soloist with Los Angeles Balalaika Orchestra and their Firebird quintet. Ms. Belaya is a multiple award winner, including prizes from The Virginia and Susan Hawk Vocal Competition and Musical Merit Foundation Competition.

ABOUT BERNARDO BERMUDEZ

Venezuelan American Tenor Bernardo Bermudez, started his musical education at The Conservatory of Music Juan Manuel Olivares, in Caracas Venezuela. He has performed in productions and concerts with companies including San Diego Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Long Beach Opera, Anchorage Opera, Portland Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, The San Diego Symphony, Opera North, Union Avenue Opera, West Bay Opera, Livermore Valley Opera and The Music Academy of the West to name a few. He participated as a voice fellow at the prestigious Summer Festivals at The Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara California and is also co-founder of Opera4Kids – a non-profit organization, whose mission is to use the transformative power of live vocal and classical music performance, to educate young audiences about theatre and music, in a culturally enriching environment.
