California’s Central Coast Offers Divine Inspiration

Craving inspiration? It’s time for you to head to San Luis Obispo to experience this relaxing oasis, named Central Coast’s “wine legacy” by Smart Meetings. With the first vineyard planted at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, San Luis Obispo holds the oldest winemaking history in the county.

Visitors can relax and unwind while sipping through San Luis Obispo wine country. Smart Meetings even called out the ever so popular Tolosa Winery & Vineyards for producing “award-winning chardonnay, pinot noir and syrah” and “emulating the area’s early winemaking heritage.”

AFAR

Yes, You Really Should Check Out the Local Farmers’ Market

Will McGough
, an experiential global traveler and writer for AFAR, Conde Nast, and more, always makes a point to ask city residents what their favorite activities are so he can experience the destination like a local. City after city, country after country, locals continually urged him to attend the local farmers’ markets, although he was hesitant, baffled by the unconventionally high interest in local markets.

While visiting San Luis Obispo, Will McGough finally “took the bait.” His SLO experience left him in awe as he perused the bustling streets filled with vendors and visitors. When he turned the corner onto Higuera Street, he discovered a line of barbeque trucks with massive Santa Maria grills, “roaring and crackling” with the “smell of burning oak in the air.” Crowds swarmed around the food vendors, eagerly awaiting the tri-tip sandwiches—a SLO specialty.

Because of San Luis Obispo, Will McGough now swings by the local farmers’ markets when traveling around the world. Discover more one-of-a-kind aspects about Thursday night Farmers’ Market in San Luis Obispo today! We promise you don’t want to miss out on this world famous, local farmers’ market.
