May Day Bike Breakfast | May 1

The 5th Annual May Day Bike Breakfast is set to kick off Bike Month on Tuesday, May 1, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at GH Sports. Participate in fun activities for a chance to win GH Sports gift cards and other prizes. Then recharge at the coffee and tea bar, and grab your complimentary to-go snack bag before you hit the road.
Bike Happening | May 3
Mission Plaza, Downtown San Luis Obispo
Dust off your old cruiser or grab your fanciest wheels for SLO Bike Happening on May 3 from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This group ride has become a tradition in SLO and the group has grown from a few dozen, to a few hundred, friends. On the first Thursday of each month, visitors and residents of San Luis Obispo dress up according to a monthly theme and ride through the streets of Downtown San Luis Obispo. The theme for May 3 is “Pinstripes & Pompadours.”
May the Fourth Bike Breakfast | May 4

Throw on your favorite Star Wars t-shirt and join fellow riders for a bike breakfast at San Luis Obispo City Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Consider yourself warned… the toast may be on the dark side.
Friday Avila Ride | May 4, 11, 18 & 25
Meadow Park, 2251 Meadow Street, San Luis Obispo
Unwind with a casual ride scheduled for every Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during Bike Month. Join the group for a fun cruise from Meadow Park to Avila Beach’s Mersea’s Restaurant, located at the end of Hanford Pier. Watch the sunset over the bay, then return with the group to SLO. Don’t forget your bike lights!
Pancake Bike Breakfast | May 9
San Luis Obispo Fire Department, 2160 Santa Barbara Street, San Luis Obispo
Bring your appetite to San Luis Obispo Fire Station #1 for a delicious pancake breakfast, hosted by the San Luis Obispo Fire Department. The festivities take place from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
SLO Tweed Ride | May 12
Triangle Park, San Luis Obispo
Suit up for the 7th Annual SLO Tweed Ride. Riders will gather at 1:00 p.m. at Triangle Park for a fun, leisurely ride through town with a 20th century-attire theme. Break out your wool, knickers, and curled mustaches for this one. And, of course vintage bicycles are encouraged, but by no means required.

Bring the kids out for a fun and educational opportunity to learn riding skills and safety tips, hosted by the San Luis Obispo Police Department. Following the clinic, there will be a BMX stunt show and a road ride through the neighborhood.
