The San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum is a beloved local cultural resource that began humbly in a transmission shop in 1990. After a $5.1m capital campaign, the shop was demolished and a beautiful, modern 8,400 square foot building was constructed in 2008. The Museum is filled to the brim with interactive exhibits and amusing spaces designed to encourage imaginitive play in a safe and social setting.
The Museum is an important place tha brings together children, families and communities for quality interaction; celebrates paly and creativity; provides activities that nurture family relationships; collaborates with schools and social service organizations; and builds a creative community that enriches the quality of people’s lives, especially children.
