This December, my friends and I kicked off the holiday season with SLO Little Theatre’s production of A Christmas Story. Given my love for the holidays and performing arts, I was beyond excited to experience the SLO Little Theatre for the first time with the added bonus of seeing this holiday classic live. Let’s just say… I was quite thrilled with both!
A family favorite and continually sell out production, A Christmas Story was the perfect treat to get into the holiday spirit. Featuring classic scenes and props such as the playground flag pole, legendary leg lamp, and Ralphie’s dedicated quest for his Red Ryder BB gun, San Luis Obispo Little Theatre portrayed A Christmas Story perfectly.
With spot-on, talented actors and dynamic sets that transformed the stage at a moment’s notice, the cast and crew made you feel like you had traveled back in time to the 1983 filming of the original American classic. Continuous laughter filled the room from families and friends of all ages.
Trust me! You should definitely add a SLO Little Theatre production to your San Luis Obispo bucket list.

SLO Little Theatre is a hidden gem of Downtown San Luis Obispo. In June 2017, SLO Little Theatre rebranded to be the San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre. Nestled on the corner of Palm and Morro Streets, SLO REP offers professional productions in its intimate, 100-seat playhouse. Presenting every genre from musicals and comedy shows to powerful dramas and special events, SLO Little Theatre has grown into a prominent performing arts center along the Central Coast.
