You are invited to join Diversity Coalition San Luis Obispo County for a guided tour of the first Arab American oral history installation in San Luis Obispo, “Mawtini: Arab American Narratives of Home and Belonging”.
As this event takes place during Ramadan, the month when Muslims worldwide fast from dawn to sunset, the evening will include an “iftar”, the breaking of the fast. At sunset, dates and water will be shared, followed by a brief prayer, which non-Muslims are welcome to observe. Afterward, all attendees are invited to join the meal together. The event will feature traditional Arab foods.
