When you enter the iconic doors of the Julia Morgan-designed Monday Club, docents will take you back to the 1920’s and 30’s, when the Depression was affecting every household, prohibition was in full swing, and women had just been given the right to vote. It was a time of social, forward-thinking women dedicated to civic duty to serve their community.
You’ll learn about the intersecting lives of early pioneer club members and their connection with Julia Morgan. Experience the Architecture of this very talented and overlooked woman who was awarded the first female architectural license in California, as well as the first woman to receive the certificate of architecture from The Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.
