A thought-provoking exploration of how the political can sometimes intersect, collide with and ultimately dismantle the personal. The play centers on a debate between an American Yale professor and former war correspondent, Nadia, and her boyfriend’s father, a British doctor, during a weekend in the English countryside, exploring the clash between American idealism and British pragmatism, particularly concerning the Iraq War.
A staged reading is a form of theatre without sets or complete costumes and props. The actors read from scripts, sometimes using music stands. They may be seated, stand in fixed positions, or incorporate minimal stage movement.
