The Butler Hotel Grand Opening
MOCA, LLC, in conjunction with garcia architecture + design, proudly announce the grand opening of The Butler Hotel, San Luis Obispo’s newest and most exclusive hospitality destination. Strategically located in San Luis Obispo’s emerging uptown MOJO (Monterey & Johnson) District, The Butler is your gateway to the incredible offerings of the Central Coast of California. The Butler Hotel was envisioned as a one‐of‐a‐kind hospitality experience that lay at the intersection of technology, design, and luxury. By repurposing yet respecting an existing industrial structure located on the property, this new central coast travel destination offers a unique visitor experience unlike any other. The existing ivy‐covered steel building yields no clue as to what lies inside.
Enter through the historic 1950’s façade and you’ll immediately find yourself immersed in a sophisticated haven infused with industrial yet modern design. Once inside, you’ll discover this boutique hotel’s rustic exterior gives way to an unexpected array of sophisticated modern hospitality details. A striking monochromatic colour scheme contrasts with the existing patina of the former auto repair garage building.
Secret passcodes and live video check‐in live in harmony with historically significant artwork and repurposed elements, in what the design team coins “retro‐tech”. This concept continues in each of the meticulously appointed rooms, where you’ll find classic mid‐century furnishings that celebrate modern design. Guests are free to relax in the intimate library lounge, or enjoy an afternoon sitting on the sundrenched outdoor patio. When you’re ready to venture out, The Butler can point you in the right direction. Whether it’s a day of wine tasting, a mid‐day massage, an intimate dinner, or a lively night on the town, the Butler’s prime location is perfect for a fantastic get‐away for any occasion.
When you’re ready to venture out, guests will find themselves front and center within the uptown MOJO District of San Luis Obispo. Local cafés, shops and galleries lie just steps away. Browse independent bookstores and art studios that support the local SLO culture and arts scene. The downtown business and entertainment district is within easy walking distance, and also boasts numerous award‐wining restaurants, bistros and fine‐dining experiences guaranteed to satisfy any foodie.
And at the end of the day, The Butler welcomes you back. Each meticulously appointed guest room features lush carpets, bespoke furniture, and individually curated artwork. The elegantly finished bathrooms include floor‐to‐ceiling porcelain tile, custom marble and walnut counters, and modern fixtures. Guests will be treated to cotton linens, duvets and pillows, along with custom robes, ecofriendly amenities and finishes, all intended to provide a unique and truly memorable experience.
