Small Town Shows Big Pride
San Luis Obispo, Ca. – This year marks the 19th year of Central Coast Pride and continues the tradition of showcasing all that San Luis Obispo has to offer while celebrating our gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender community.
This year’s Pride festivities include Pride After Dark, Pride Beach & BBQ, Drag Show, Comedy Show as well as Pride in the Plaza Festival in Mission Plaza. For specific event information, please see details below.
July 3: Pride After Dark | 6-9 p.m. | GALA Center (1050 Palm Street, SLO, CA 93401) This free event will be catered by Marisol at the Cliff’s Restaurant and desserts by Honeybee Cakery.
July 4: Pride Beach & BBQ | Pismo Beach | 1-10 p.m. Back by popular demand! Spend the day with the Pride Committee in our massive family and LGBT-friendly compound. Pack your chairs, towels, and sunscreen. Enjoy music, food and drink, beach games and fireworks. Everyone is invited to this free event! Look for the giant rainbow flags just south of the Grand Avenue beach access.
July 10: Drag Show | 2 Shows | 6:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. | SLO Brewing Company Tickets for this 21 and over event may be purchased at www.slopride.com
July 11: Comedy Show | 8 p.m. | Fremont Theater VIP tickets are $50 and include seating in the first four rows & an exclusive pre-show reception (6:30 p.m.) at Café Roma with cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. General Admission is $25. All tickets may be purchased at www.slopride.com.
July 11: Pride Dance Party | 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. | Pappy McGregors Tickets for this 21 and over event are $10 and may be purchased at the door.
July 12: Pride in the Plaza | Noon – 5:30 p.m. | Mission Plaza This free family event open to the public and will include activities and entertainment such as headlining act Belinda Carlisle; music, art, food and retail vendors; a beverage garden; an array of local and national nonprofit agencies; the ever popular little and big kids play areas; and much more.
July 12: SLO Pride After Party | Novo | 5:30 – 10 p.m. Join San Luis Obispo in celebrating our gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and bringing people together in the spirit of open celebration and community.
