San Luis Obispo, CA – (Immediate Release)- San Luis Obispo is about to take a bite out of the Big Apple. From August 5- 11, visitors and locals alike strolling through Time Square in New York City, will get the chance to see what our special part of the Central Coast is all about.
Through a special advertising package, San Luis Obispo will appear on the ABC Television’s screen in Time Square giving viewers a snap-shot of what life in our beautiful city looks like. The San Luis Obispo clip will run 120 times over the seven day stretch.
Additionally, through this media buy San Luis Obispo will also be featured in a full-page advertorial in Horizon Travel Magazine which is distributed by The Wall Street Journal. San Luis Obispo will also receive banner advertising placement on the Horizon Travel Magazine website.
“This media package will put San Luis Obispo in markets we have never been before,” said Molly Cano, tourism manager for the City of San Luis Obispo. “It is also a great opportunity for San Luis Obispo to be in various types of media and see how the city is received in different markets and through different channels.”
The funding for this special advertising purchase comes from the City of San Luis Obispo’s Tourism Improvement District (TBID) which collects an assessment fee on occupied hotel rooms in SLO and in turn markets the city to attract visitors.
