Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa

Walk around the historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, founded by Junipero Serra. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful mission in the series; it was the fifth of the 21 California missions built, and remains an active Catholic church today.

The Mission Plaza in downtown San Luis Obispo is a gathering spot for the community as well as many community events and festivals year-round. Through a nearby footbridge, the plaza adjoins to the creekwalk and provides access to shops on Higuera Street.

The Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa gift shop is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Summer and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the winter. Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Easter.
